On an average of twice a week, we get a phone from a concerned house owner who thinks they might have mold. They generally have a fear that mold is growing inside of their walls. The very first question I ask is “Have you had a flood recently?” Usually, the answer is no. The next concern is “Why do you think you have mold?” Some will say that a friend told them that if you have ants in your house, you have mold. Let’s clear this up now. When in fact mold testing is important.
No Moisture, No Mold. Ants do not suggest that you have mold. I get ants in my home once or twice a year. Typically, they will come in and get water from the shower or tub drain. Recently, I discovered them getting water from the toilet tank. This is just typical, they are thirsty and searching for water. This does not mean you have a mold problem, mold inspection must be considered. Ants usually in your house indicates they have found food or water. Put some bait traps out for the ants and they will disappear. We do not advise you to spray pesticides in your house, use bait traps just.

The occupant of the Condo Unit is complaining about getting sick after a leak. This usually takes place if the flooded location is not died up correctly. During the second stage of the investigation, it was found that the surrounding property owner had a flood less the 3 months back. It was improperly tidied up by the property owner and resulted in the covert mold in the wall. This is the problem of living in a Condo Association. You can not control what others are doing or not doing properly. The mold issue was originating from the adjacent system due to the reality that there was air circulation through the walls due to a break in the firewall program. There is always a response as to why something is taking place.
In conclusion, mold generally is the result of water damage of some type.
Periodically, there are cases where it is not obvious however there is mold. Mold can not grow unless there is some type of water such as a flood, water leak, condensation, or a concealed leak. If you have Asthma or Immune Compromised, it is important to be knowledgeable about your surroundings worrying about water leaks. Mold can have an unfavorable effect them.
